Description
My eighth and final oil painting from Painting I.
This is a parody of René Magritte's "The Treachery of Images". It makes fun of 4Kids' tendency to erase Japanese culture in whatever anime they get their hands on in order to "localize anime so children in English-speaking countries will understand it." In the Pokemon series, onigiri (rice balls) were called American foods such as sandwiches, donuts, and ice cream, and sometimes even edited to look like American foods.
